Friday's adventure consisted of my first night "working" at the Upper Room.
[Edit: The Upper Room is a Christian Ministry Center in Dinkytown, where on every other Friday they do acoustic concerts and i am the new cafe intern]
I got there 1 1/2 early and only sold one cup of coffee all night. It was a very unexciting night. Only 10 people showed up and they were all Nate (the other intern)'s friends. It was an Open Mic night, so they just all grabbed guitars and jammed. it was kind of cool and i got to meet some new people, but not really worth my time. But i did get paid for it. Hopefully next time more people will show up and give me something to do.
Sunday's adventure was going to see The Toasters with Steph and Johan. It was a good show, but i am too old to go to shows. The place was littered with 14 year old kids who think they are way too cool. I know i was just like them when i was 14, but i am just amazed by them now. I felt very out of place, but the music was good and it was a cheap show.

you should work on getting people from campus to go... crazy concordians love open mics... because they are all so creative... or something. :)
do they still send out the student bulletins? that might be a way to help... ?
Awww!!! Congrats on getting that job at the cafe!!! I knew you would!! Yay! And lucky you seeing the Toasters! Jealousy!! But must agree about feeling like the old out of place person at shows. ugggh.
