Reno

Monday afternoon Jen and I jumped in the car and went to Reno. We went there for a District DCE meeting. It was really fun. We picked up the DCE in Modesto on the way. It was nice to get to know him and see how he likes the area and the church he is at. The drive to Reno was gorgeous. Driving through mountains covered in Evergreen trees made me wish i lived there. Reno itself is a funny little city. Lots of casinos, but of course lots of normal stuff.
The time spent with the DCEs was great.
We stayed at Circus, Circus (pictured above) and so we played in the Midway Arcade and saw some circus acts. We also did a little bit of gambling and i won $130! The next day we did a bible study and just talked business. I was excited to hear about what is going on in our district and was encouraged to find out that most DCEs do some form of evangelism/outreach in their work and it was good to find out what that was for each of them.

Right now i'm a little worried. Phil's visit was really good, but i feel like i'm lacking. I'm providing events for our church to do some witnessing and some witnessing training, but i am not in the community at all. I don't really know who in the community needs to be reached and so i'm worried. Phil gave me a good idea to make a "ministry plan" for a new group of people. If i were to start a new church here in town, who would i be reaching out to? And so i'm going to try and figure that out, but i don't know how to go about it. I have facts and figures and demographics, but i don't know how to actually find out who is lost. Hmmm...i think i need some major God guidance.
